Now
That We're Silver Girls

Why, when
most of us reach the age of 50 (or over) when asked how old we are,
do we whisper the answer? Why are we ashamed of our age? Could it possibly
be because the media portrays a beautiful woman as a slim, tall, perfectly
proportioned 18-year-old girl with unblemished, smooth skin and thick,
silky hair? Of course this image makes us feel unacceptable and unwelcome.
We need to celebrate our age -- we are much wiser and more feminine.
Youth is
like a rainbow, it appears and disappears very fast. However, people
lose their youth, not their beauty. Beauty can last as long as we do,
because it is something that is inside of us. In our hearts, we can
still hold the spirit of a beautiful 18-year-old, even though our metabolism
has slowed down a bit and many of us no longer weigh 110 pounds. Neither
youth nor being thin equals beauty.
Silver Girls
have a lot to contribute. Just look at how many of us are successful
businesswomen, professionals, politicians and artists. We are full of
life! We want to be admired and appreciated. Yes, we have a few more
wrinkles in our skin. The eye sight may not be as keen as it was 20
years ago and maybe the hand is not as steady!
Most importantly,
we need to make ourselves blossom by taking care of our health and looks
and by maintaining a youthful and positive attitude. This may be the
time to think about having your eyebrows put on in permanent, artful
strokes to simulate the hair that didn't come back after many years
of tweezing or to permanently enhance the eye lashes or maybe the lip
color has faded. It's time to consider permanent lip liner or full lips
- imagine not having to wear lipstick and still having the lush lips
of youth. The process of permanent makeup is perfectly safe and looks
very natural. It allows you to wake up in the morning to a more attractive
you.
